Commentary South Africa has just been moved to an international host. As a result South African users may notice a slight degradation in transfer speed while foreign users will experience improved ones.
Unfortunately we were forced to go this route. South African based hosting services monthly bandwidth allowances are notably below the international norm. We were approaching the ceiling on our own bandwidth allowance, after some recent ferocious growth in bandwidth usage, and therefore had to transfer to a server that is much more bandwidth generous.
I suspect this is a result of Telkom’s market abuse. Their prohibitively expensive prices for limited service rollout likely forced such bandwidth restrictions onto local hosts in the first place, and have to be passed onto the consumer, and ultimately you dear end user.
The web address of this site will meantime remain the same, as will the site content. Therefore the only apparent difference will be transfer speeds.
