Freedom of Association Problems
The General Quantifier has a take on the libertarian/liberal conservative view on the problem with principles freedom of association within the South African context.
It highlights the problem of applying the ‘freedom of association’ perspective of liberty, what with the racism of the past. Similarly, it also looks at the odd example where one inn only allowing gay men as guests is being taken to court by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance for discrimination against lesbians, women and hetrosexual men.
Political correctness gone mad or a real case of outright discrimination by gay men against others and a violation of the latters human rights? Is it worth considering too that locally gay men were also discriminated against in the past too then even as Black Economic Empowerment and Affirmative Action are seen as necessary evils within the South African context and history?
