Southern Cross carries a good analysis on the question of ongoing Zimbabwe: South African comparisons and whether we may potentially be heading down the same route as our failed neighbour.

I can only agree with Murray’s discussion involving Zimbabwe in the eighties and post-Apartheid South Africa, as well as the comparison between the two. The land redistribution program locally is not heading down the same road and the local Government’s undertakings to rectify the past have been far more sensible than Zanu-PF’s ever were, more has also been achieved.

All of which is in stark contrast to this misinformed piece. The El Salvador example is hardly applicable and is not a suitable comparison since there is no such initiative for mass collectivisation. And never mind the rest of the contentious and unresearched journalism contained within the article.
